October General Meeting - Zoom

Our October General Meeting (Zoom) will welcome Takuya Inoue and  presenters from the Naka-Kon Japanese Cultural Education Association to share the insight of Naka-Kon.  They will present how they are educating Japanese POP culture to the general public.


Title: Inside the Journey of Naka-Kon

Naka-Kon is a Japanese pop culture and anime convention that started as a small event organized by the University of Kansas Anime Club in 2005.

It has grown to a 3 day convention bringing in approximately 10,000 people. The convention invites artists, musicians, voice actors , fashion designers, and anime industry experts from Japan and the US. Programming consists of panel presentations, workshops, a vendor and artist exhibit hall, game room, concerts, dances, cafes contests, fashion show, and cosplay.


About Presenters: Naka-Kon Japanese Cultural Education Association (Naka-Kon) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  Naka-Kon's mission is to celebrate and educate the general public on all aspects of Japanese pop culture, such as anime, manga, music, fashion, and Japan's rich traditions and history. Naka-Kon is committed to creating an inclusive environment for everyone regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation and identity, disability, physical appearance, body size, religion, or demographic.


The registration is required to participate in this event.  The Zoom information will be sent upon the completion of the registration.  The registration link will be sent to all members by Nichibei Express.
